I'm thinking of asking for a weekend differential.

Do most hospital pharmacists still get a weekend differential? And what do you think is a fair percentage of pay to ask for?
 
We do not have a weekend differential. Never have. We used to get a differential for 2nd and 3rd shift but slightly over 10 years ago they made us exempt and that went away. It came with a rather large raise so it was a good change.

Current hospital does not.

We have an evening (after 8pm) and graveyard (honestly not sure when it kicks in, maybe 2am?) differential that is the same, 7 days a week. The evening works out to like $4.50/hr - enough that I notice it on a check where I get paid pto at my base rate (80+% of my shifts fall into this differential)

Where I interned they did separate night and weekend differentials and they were substantial (this was for techs/interns, but I thought it was for RNs, too)

Sunday-thurs after 7pm was ~12%
Saturday and Sunday day ~16%
Friday-Saturday after 7pm ~24% (!!!)
 
Also, my base pay is significantly higher at the no weekend differential hospital than it would be at the differential hospital.

Like, $10-15/hr. Different regions.
 
As a specialist, I work every 3rd or 4th weekend depending on staffing needs. Our staff pharmacists work every other weekend.
 
Weekend differential is roughly 2%. Overnight weekend differential is about 7%.
 
I get a differential, not a sizable one, so I tend to ignore it and act surprised come pay day. It's structured such that there's an evening one and an overnight one.

Nothing about weekdays vs. Weekends though. Hell, I like working weekends...don't have to pay me extra to get weekdays off and a lighter workload/commute on workdays.
 
Evening differential is 10%. I think weekend differential is about 20%?
