Here's what happened
:
I am going to submit my AMCAS application as soon as AAMC approves my FAP for this year. Meanwhile, I needed somewhere to study, so I went to my university to request an alumni card which allows access to the college library. Strangely, they tried to look me up and saw no record of my graduation. So, I sent an email with a copy of my transcript to the person in charge of the office that issues alumni cards. I received back an email that said they "got the okay" to issue me an alumni card after they called the registrar and got stuck on the phone for 20 minutes and subsequently had to wait for my transcript to be "verified."

Here's the problem:
So, that's what happened. Now I'm worried that this university may have problems getting my transcript to AAMC. This is one of those universities where it can be very difficult to reach anyone who knows what they are doing and simple processes frequently take weeks.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about how I might solve this problem or what I can optimally do in this situation?

I sent the registrar and transcript office an email asking them to let me know if their system is showing my information correctly, specifically that I earned my BA when I did and I attached my transcript. Hopefully they will get back to me soon next week. I let them know that I was informed by another office, the student card office, that it was not showing correctly yesterday.

It sounds like you are close to campus. Go see these people. Don't wait for email. They might not even be in the office now and the response might be delayed. Good luck!

Here is the short response from the transcript office, "On our EXTENDER records it shows that you have earned a bachelor’s degree. "

I don't know what that means, so I emailed them back asking if this is going to cause problems as I am applying to medical school right now and 3rd parties, such as AAMC and medical school will be trying to verify my academic record. Still no response from registrar which tends to be very unhelpful in person. In email, at least you can forward unhelpful responses to a higher up...

UPDATE: Transcript office said that this will not cause problems or effect anything. Still waiting to hear back from registrar.

All applicants should always have an official transcript to enter their AMCAS coursework

I do have an official transcript that I ordered before hearing about this problem. I think I'll order a few more now to see what happens and to keep on hand in case I hear about a problem. My worst fear is that my AMCAS application will get delayed without anyone notifying me.

Nobody will notify you. It is up to you to check the status of your AMCAS and for you I would suggest checking that at least once a day

Do you mean just logging in to my account to check the status? I've never done this before so I don't know how to check the status and what "the status" will or won't show. If what it shows is as general as "under review" or similar, then after what amount of time, would you suggest calling AMCAS to see if something unusual is going on?
