weird message on the FAFSA website

Hey All,

I just registered for a PIN on the FAFSA website, and before I finished, I got the following message: "our records indicate that you have already filed a PIN request." This makes no sense because this is the first time I have ever filed a FAFSA. Anyways, I was able to request a PIN with no problems besides the weird message. Has anyone else gotten this???

Did you or your parents apply for any financial aid at any time during your undergraduate education? If you did then that may be where they have a PIN for you. You keep the same one you are given, even if it was years ago.

MM: this happened to me too, but I just got a new pin, which has yet to be emailed to me. It's prob just from applying for FAFSA for college, like amy beth says.
