weird problem...any suggestions?

I was just filling out my AMCAS and there are no grade conversions that match my school. My univeristy just started the + and - grading system but they still have the previous weights. So for example, an A- is still 4.0 but AMCAS recognizes the weight as 3.7, a huge difference! So the AMCAS GPA will be different from mine. Any suggestions?

My school treats A+'s as 4.33, but AMCAS says it is just a 4.0. This had a small affect on my gpa. This is just the way they have to do it to normalize all the gpa's from different schools. I wouldnt worry about it too much, it may not make a huge difference in your gpa overall.

Thanks RLMD, I guess I will just enter the first grade types, which are basically the normal way most schools work.

Any other have people have this same problem...then come share 😀

How can an A- still be a 4.0? That doesnt seem fair! 😉MY GPA would be much better if it were like that! Anyways, when you said you were putting in the first garde type, what did you mean? Just make sure that the numbers and + or - match those on your transcript perfectly because I hear these AMCASers will hold it up if they dont.

I go to rice in houston, tx, but i have heard of other schools doing it also. I only got two of them so it doesnt matter much anyway.

My school doesn't even use + or - system. So a 90 is an A and a 100 is an A.

You've just got to fill it out exactly like it appears on the transcript. AMCAS's system helps some and hurts some, but it doesn't change you having to follow their directions.

At my school we don't have +'s or -'s either... so 90 and 100 are both an A... or in the case of my calc III class... 70, 80, 90 aand 100 are all an A <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

that's pretty sweet if you guys didn't have + or -.

at my ugrad, we had A+, but it was only worth bragging rights.
