Well, its official. PNUHS will not take an entering class for the school year of 07-08, and will begin admissions in 07 for 08-09. This was just finally changed on the website today.

It's possible that this has been the situation for some time...and I'm simply the last one to find out...there has been a lot of threads in this regard.

Many will argue that the proliferation of new schools hurts the profession, that issue can be argued either way. But the reality of this situation is that this announcement eliminates an opportunity for many students of the Pac NW for whom this school was a God-send. Well, I guess we'll all just have to wait another year 🙁

In this regard, anyone out there have any concrete answers as to what "new" schools we will be able to apply to for 07? Rumor mill says Mesa, Tennessee....Touro?

I know. I super sad b/c it's so far a completely unrepresented area of the country. There aren't alot of MD programs either, and I love the NW. But, the word is they could scratch up the cash to make it happen. I'm in contact with a lady (who is ridiculously nice and friendly. it's fabulous) about the possible branch of Touro opening in Harlem. She thinks they want to open next year, but does that mean apps this year? Who knows. She's asking around, and said she'll get back to me.

Pursue a differnt school. A good plan today is better than the perfect plan of tomorrow.
