Western/COMP secondary included an interview invite!!

Hi All,

Yesterday I was emailed the Western/COMP (in Ponoma, California) secondary which was pretty standard. But in the email it also simultaneously invited me to interview. This is def not the usual routine I'm accustomed to. 😕 Does anyone know if this Western/COMP's usual practice or if they only do this for special cases? Anybody out there in the same boat as me?

They sent me an interview invite before I sent out my secondary. Their secondary was posted on their web site. I sent the secondary after I recieved their interview invite. They want the secondary to be there before the interview though.

The same thing happened to me when I applied. I think it means that based on your primary application, you are a pretty good candidate. Congratulations!!

absolutely! if this happened to you, COMP considers you to be attractive. i was wierded out by it too when i got it, but was told that this is a good thing and unless you really blow the interview, you will be accepted. so good luck and I will most likely see you there next year if you decide to go to COMP.

I agree with hotlikebutter - if you get the secondary and interview together you have a pretty good chance of getting in - it means they like you. However it's definitely not guaranteed, I hear they give interview and secondaries together to quite a few people.

No one replied to me. do you people think I need a higher GPA to have a legit shot? I am retaking some classes right now that will move my GPA to a 3.2. At a 2.9, do I have a very low chance, even though my MCAT is above average? Assume my extracurriculars are excellent.
