For those of you that interviewed at western yesterday or recently, did any of you guys find out about your acceptance at the end of the interview? What was your experience at western like? And also where do most people stay(were you able to find a hotel with shuttle service?) and did they bring up your oat scores or gpa at the interview? I just want to make sure it's worth it for me to purchase a ticket from the east coast to California? I don't have the greatest stats but I don't want to waste money making the trip only to interview well but then get rejected because they want me to work on my oat or gpa..this has happened before...any advice or input about western would be really appreciated! Thanks guys.

Western's interview is closed file, so they won't ask you about your gpa or oat score. They ask behavioral-style questions, so be sure to prepare for those and expect to be asked 3-4 questions. I thought the interview was pretty laid back and everyone was friendly. Good luck!

I found about my acceptance in the mail. I received my acceptance letter about a week after my interview. My experience was very good, I really enjoyed the whole day. The campus and current students were very nice. I had a relative that goes to western so I stayed with him, but I'm not sure about a shuttle service, you may have to call and ask. During my interview, they did not bring up my oat and gpa at all! I think for western, once you are qualified for an interview then you have already met there academic requirements. One of the people in my interview group was from Pennsylvania, and he said the same thing about his interview, no oat or gpa discussions. Just because we didn't get asked doesn't mean that you will not too, but the chances are small. My interview consisted of just a few questions and they were all behavioral based and how I reacted to them. For instance, they asked me "name a time where you failed and how did you handle it". Also they asked me "name a time where you went out of your way to put your own goals on hold to help someone else out".

I don't think you should limit yourself not to go just because they ask you questions about gpa and oat. I think that is the wrong way to approach it. Interviews are wonderful opportunities, but nobody said it will be a breeze. As hard as answering questions about gpa and oat are to answer, they are good questions and you try to be prepared for them regardless if an interviewer asks or not. Just my opinion though. Good luck!
