YES!! Caribbean doctors cannot own their own practice and cannot practice medicine on their own in a hospital setting. They have to be supervised by a registered RN, NP, DO or US MD. Caribbean doctors make the same salary as an entry level hospital janitor..~$25k/yr., except they have MD after their name...duh.

Sarcasm grows out of the fact that sometimes it is smarter to do a little basic research than to expect everything to be spoonfed to you by people who owe you nothing in this world.

You MAKE the SAME EXACT MONEY as a HARVARD MD giving your scope of practice and specialty (comparing apples to apples when it comes to specialties). So a Harvard Internist would be paid the same as a Carib. Internist. YOUR AN MD. Where you got your MD does not matter, you passed all your board exams, went thru a US residency and have a US license to practice medicine in the US. As long as you have that US license the sky is the limit of what you can make regardless of what school you went to.

MD2b, please direct your attention to Sundarban's avatar, and realize that he said the EXACT same thing in his post as you did in yours. ONLY FUNNIER. But for those of us on SDN not well-versed in Sund's brand of advice or those who haven't bothered to do a little research on issues of interest to them, THANKS FOR THE TRANSLATION!

I don't find the logic in writing up some sadistic poorly delivered, overdone bit of sarcasm either.

I do not see the purpose of actually advertising that you graduated from a 'school' such as U of T, but some people do it  Just joshing ya for being from Toronto :D

FMG or US grads generally get the same salaries when done with residency.

Sometimes, some practices choose to limit their employment search to US grads only. In fact if you look online for Jobs you may see them in some of the posts they place for physicians.

However, the majority of the time you will find a good job with a salary that is competititve with the US grads.

I know a doc who was from Texas, went to a med school in the carribean, did his residency in atlanta (he was well known as a crummy doctor was probably on probation more than once, besides being an absolute *****) and now is in private practice in the country pulling down $200,000 plus, living in a phat house and driving a beemer. His partner left him because he is on the verge of malpractice.
At any rate, you can be successful and make lots of money after going to med school in the carib. He just happened to be a lousy doc.

And how does your post have anything to do with my post?

I'm kidding.

There are good and bad doctors everywhere. Did you read about the one who killed his partner?
