what are all of the different one year masters/ post bacc programs that one can apply too which will help with dental school admissions the next year?

i know of: Tulane, Baylor, Midwestern Glendale, Uconn

any others people know about that have a high rate of getting people into D School the next year??

Temple had one but not there anymore, to my surprise !

Midwestern University has an MA program at both campuses now (AZ and IL). I did the one year Masters at Midwestern AZ and have been accepted to Midwestern Illinois' dental school. I have an upcoming interview to NYU. Check out my predents page and feel free to PM me for any questions. Good luck! 🙂

I think Barrys(florida) and Western University have 1 year master programs. Westerns is fairly new.

great thanks

do youknow of any list or something like that, where i can look and find all of the programs for dent students?

Mississippi College has an excellent linkage with UMC.

I suggest Barry Uni. M.S. Biomedical Sciences - 1 year track program is an excellent program as it is by far well known program in the Dental schools community. Nova accepts quite a few students from Barry every year. Good Luck!!!

There is no official list, but i have previously spent hours researching what schools have a 1 year program. I found 2 medical school that have a 1 year certificate program, not a masters. It is competititve to get in, and the med schools accept the DAT for pre-dent track students that want to improve their application by taking courses alongside med students during the first year. I have the links of these schools below, hope this helps. The columbia program was a lil iffy, not sure exactly what that is about.

I wouldn't say quite a few... and I wouldn't say that's it's the most well known by far either.
I'm graduated from the Barry 1 year masters. It's worked for the better part, I wanna say 33ish out of 40 of us have gotten into dental school. Almost all of us have had an interview to Nova and they have only accepted 1 out of our graduating class. I graduated '09-'10 so we're fresh out of Barry.

so what your trying to say is barrys link to nova is not that strong?

well, let me ask you then - how hard is the program compared with other similar ones in terms of courseload

We have strong links. A handful of the Barry teachers ARE teachers from Nova's dental school and DO school. We took the exact same Histology that Nova gave to their dental students. However, you have to look at it in the fact that in a graduating class of 40, they obviously can't accept everybody from the class. Especially when you're being compared to your classmates.

I wouldn't know how to compare the courseload to other programs... but Barry is no joke. In my opinion, if you can't maintain at least a 3.5 at Barry, you are shooting yourself in the foot.
