What are averages like at your school?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Bruh that's like 10% of the entire class. Are you galvanizing everyone to get schwifty??
On my campus its 270, but between the 2 campuses its like 480. I'm not sure if the 30-40 that have to remediate are from just my campus or both.

A ton at our school. I believe something close to 50 or 60 people remediated neuro after first year at our school (both campuses).
Did anyone pass neuro remidiation in KC? I know that in Joplin almost noone did

My class has also seen large amounts have to remediate classes such as Neuro....and OPP. It’s actually shocking to see how many fail at times.

Maybe. I could also see that number being inflated by those who had to repeat so they don’t feel so bad. I’m not accusing anyone of that, but I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility.
It's possible, but I've heard this number from multiple people and I know a couple who were in remediation. Even if it's a bit overinflated, it's still too high.

I'm not sure. My friend who remediated did not, and is now repeating the entire year.

This is truly frightening. So...any tips for Neuro?

It seems that they've made all of the big changes to your curriculum specifically with the intention of improving this course, so hopefully it should be better for you all! Mostly just know your tracts and how to ID where your lesion is, and put time into learning the downstairs anatomy.

My friend took it with a group (not sure how big it was) and according to that person/several others, not a single person passed it. The two people I know who both had to take it are now repeating 1st year. Given that it was a combined test of all 3 of our exams, plus an anatomy practical done from pictures, it sounds like it was a test that probably wasn't going to be passed.

I heard from the dean during his talk the other day that the school isn't going to do that anymore, he said if someone failed because of one portion of the course they would then only be tested on the material from that one portion. He said it doesn't make sense for someone to be tested over an entire courses material if they only failed one portion of the course. But who knows if they will actually change anything

Not only that, it was a new exam and they had been told it was going to be the same questions

Treat it like the mountain it is. I worked from 7:30 am to 10:30 PM every night for neuro with no days off and like a 1 hour break total and still only pulled a 65% pre curve.

Put in the work and you should be fine, just realize that putting in the work for this class is entirely different from your last two blocks, or any other block you will have this year

Preparing to grind.

I know one of the OS tutors from last year that actually likes omm consistently did pretty poorly on those exams. They are intentionally written to be confusing and do not reflect what's on the COMLEX.
lmao comlex omm questions are a joke compared to kcu's.

Then why??? The average on our exam was a 72%, so currently 40% of the class doesn't have the 70% needed lol

Focus on your weaknesses. I was horrible at anatomy and practicals last year so I spent more time learning those. Also, for the Endo portion just read Costanzo's and do Zanki and you'll be set up to do really well. The professor who teaches it teaches straight out of the book so it's really straight forward and was our highest average last year.
