Hi all!

Im an Illinois resident and i was wondering what you guys thought my chances at getting into UIC dental school are..

I already know I am at a disadvantage, because I completed 50 credits at a community college..🤔
Community college gpa: 4.0
(I completed that in a year, 10 credits over the summer, 30 over the school year, and then 10 more over the summer)

But I did do a lot of shadowing and participated in a lot of clubs while at CC (95 hours shadowing)

Then i transferred to U of I and I'm finishing my degree in biochemistry
Cgpa:3.88
Sgpa:3.79
(Im considered a senior now, but I am eligible to graduate early.. should I?)

I started studying for the DAT Sophomore year (almost exactly when I transferred to uiuc) and my DAT scores are

PAT: 26
QR: 24
RC: 24
Bio: 27
GC: 26
OC: 29

Im pretty happy with my scores considering i took over a year to study for it..

And by now i have 200+ hours of shadowing
and Ive only a few hours of research (40, maybe)
And Im in a lot of ECs here at uni that both include the dental scene and not, also in a few honor societies, if that matters.

I also have already begun getting LOR and I got a committee LOR, and a LOR from the dentist i shadow

I can graduate a year early, do dental schools look down upon that? Or can i just apply this year and have a decent shot getting in..?

The reason i went to CC was because I didnt really know what I wanted to do with my life, and now that I do I really hope it doesnt set me back too far //:

From what I've read, it is too late to apply. With those stats and scores, however, maybe someone else will disagree with me.

Scores are solid. Give it a try and see? The worst that can happen is you learn how to use aadsas

Are.... you trying to be a meme? This can't be a serious question can it.... You're fine you can get multiple acceptances (I hope I haven't fallen for any bait)

But the fact that i went to a CC wont hinder me at all? I mean, do dental schools care about that? (I didnt take any prereq classes there..?)

Do you think my going to CC hinders me? If i dont get in should i do more research and shadowing to make up for it?

Not sure about the CC credits. If it is and you are set, maybe look into retaking the pre recs at a 4 year

I think your absurdly high scores on the DAT might make up for what is really a pretty minor fault in your application. I mean, you do understand you're in like the 99.9th percententile for practically everything right? What might be a problem is your timing.

You should call the school on the phone. Ask the recruitment and admissions department if they think you should apply this cycle. You probably didn't think you would do as well as you did on the DAT, and you should tell them that.

Honestly dude, if you want to get into dental school you should try to make it happen. Don't let opportunity pass you by because you're afraid to fail. Failure is like 2/3rds of life brah, and it leads to the other third.

If you aren't real and are making fun of people that ask this question, then disregard my advice.
