Hi all!
Im an Illinois resident and i was wondering what you guys thought my chances at getting into UIC dental school are..
I already know I am at a disadvantage, because I completed 50 credits at a community college..🤔
Community college gpa: 4.0
(I completed that in a year, 10 credits over the summer, 30 over the school year, and then 10 more over the summer)
But I did do a lot of shadowing and participated in a lot of clubs while at CC (95 hours shadowing)
Then i transferred to U of I and I'm finishing my degree in biochemistry
Cgpa:3.88
Sgpa:3.79
(Im considered a senior now, but I am eligible to graduate early.. should I?)
I started studying for the DAT Sophomore year (almost exactly when I transferred to uiuc) and my DAT scores are
PAT: 26
QR: 24
RC: 24
Bio: 27
GC: 26
OC: 29
Im pretty happy with my scores considering i took over a year to study for it..
And by now i have 200+ hours of shadowing
and Ive only a few hours of research (40, maybe)
And Im in a lot of ECs here at uni that both include the dental scene and not, also in a few honor societies, if that matters.
I also have already begun getting LOR and I got a committee LOR, and a LOR from the dentist i shadow
I can graduate a year early, do dental schools look down upon that? Or can i just apply this year and have a decent shot getting in..?
The reason i went to CC was because I didnt really know what I wanted to do with my life, and now that I do I really hope it doesnt set me back too far //:
