This is my 2nd time applying because I had a low DAT and GPA the first time applying. I only got one interview but was rejected

I retook the DAT and did better and is doing a Master's program as well. Here are my stats:
Undergraduate GPA: 3.45
DAT AA: 21
QR:21
RC:20
Bio: 21
GC: 19
OC: 22
TS:21
PAR: 21
My current master's GPA: 3.67, after this last quarter I think I can bring it up to 3.7+

I was involved in a lot of ECs during undergrad with hundreds of volunteering hours and had many leadership roles, but the only dental experience I have is 100 hrs of shadowing.

Since it's my second time applying after not getting in the first time, I'm really nervous about this time around. If any of you guys can give me your input, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!

Questions:
- State of residency
- School list from last cycle, including where you interviewed
- School list for this coming cycle?
- Types of LORs you'll get and their strengths, strong or weak?
- What kind of masters?

- resident of IL
- I applied to uic, midwestern, siu, lecom, Louisville USC and only got interviewed at LECOME
- I dont know yet where I should apply next cycle and will take suggestions
- I believe my LORS are mostly strong
- I am going the masters of biomedical sciences at midwestern university

I think you applied to too few schools last cycle, especially if you had a lower DAT than the 21 you posted about. I would keep those 6 schools, but definitely add maybe 6-7 more, probably mostly privates as your masters GPA isn't as high as expected (with a masters, you should be aiming for a 3.8+ imo as dental school is much harder than a masters program and you want to prove to schools you can handle it). I'd maybe add schools like Case, MWU AZ, ASDOH, MOSDOH, Tufts -- but the schools you add really depend on you and where you'd be comfortable living at for four years. Be sure to have a strong PS and apply as soon as the cycle opens and I think you should have better luck this cycle!

Thank you for your input! Also the masters program I am in is only 1 year and it's pretty notorious for being very rigorous in the school because the classes we take are pretty much being taught by the same professors that teaches MWU dental and medical. They also have plus and minus grading system that's why my GPA dropped with just 1 B lol RIP

Good for you regarding your master's GPA (though I also agree with the comment that 3.7/3.8+ is more ideal). Now the question is the level of networking you've done to determine which schools on your list value that GPA when it comes to your application. Do you have a linkage interview guarantee with your GPA? How much networking have you done with current dental students at the schools high on your list?
