Chances for med school?
cGPA 3.1 sGPA 3.2
Master's GPA: 3.9 (huge discrepancy between undergrad and master's due to financial and family troubles throughout Sophomore and Junior years of undergrad)
MCAT 35s
As far as extracirriculars:
Research for 3 years ( plus 1 Summer internship in Australia at Monash University)
Published in Journal of the Acoustical Society of America and in the Australian newspaper "The Age"
Volunteer EMT-B for my university 2 years
Volunteering at a Childrens Hospital and a Rehabilitation center for 2 and 3 years respectively.
Volunteer coordinator for American Red Cross at my university
...could go on but its mostly generic extracirriculars after that
I am extremely worried that my chances for admission will be adversely affected by the low undergraduate GPA. I don't want to use any excuses as a crutch to get into medical school but I do not know how articulate that my GPA during undergrad is not an accurate representation of the student I actually am. I got through my problems and busted my butt off senior year of undergrad and my masters program.
Any suggestions or should I try D.O. school? and again, what are my chances?
