Hello, first of thank you for your input.

I am currently a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Health I have a cGPA 3.5, sGPA 3.23, my MCAT however is very low 21, I would like to apply to DO schools I was planning to apply to 20 schools and was wondering what my chances are, I am very involved in school and out of school activities, I have more than 3000 hrs of research experience, 2 publications, I also have live with and take care of my little sister while in school and work, and I have a solid story of why I want to be a doctor. Do I have any chance of getting in? I live in Texas btw. I am planning to apply for the 2016 admission cycle, any advices?

Thank you so much

That MCAT is almost almost certainly exclusionary for DO and there is no MD chance

@mikesheree so should I still apply to DO? I am also applying to a bunch of post bacc programs

If you have an absolutely outstanding PS and strong LORs you have a very outside chance, but it's really not good given your sGPA is also low. Your ECs and story seem very strong, but your stats are going to kill you at a lot of DO schools. Being a URM would help, but your odds would still not be good. I think you'd be better off doing a post-bac, hitting at least a 3.7 sGPA there, and trying to retake the MCAT and going for at least a 26. You could try applying this cycle, but if you don't get in, you'll have to show very significant improvements in your app to get in as a reapplicant.

Don't apply this cycle if you are not planning to take your MCAT.

Even for DO schools, that MCAT is pretty close to lethal.

Are you ESL?

You need to retake, but do NOT do so until you fix your deficits.
