i would like to know what are my chances of getting into an MD school? Do I need to apply to a SMP ( Student Masters Program) or is my GPA high enough that I dont need to/ can take a few upper level sciences and be good?

Cant really tell you without an MCAT score but your GPA is on the lower side, esp the sGPA. But I would not recommend SMP. Do a DIY postbacc and look into DO. Beggars cant be choosers, as Goro would put it

What's a Student Masters Program? I always thought SMP was a Special Masters Program. Is this a new thing? Are you fluent in Spanish? Do you have a history of service to your Hispanic community? It's really impossible to help you without a MCAT score but your GPAs are below average, especially your sGPA. I've read on here that Maryland residents have a difficult time gaining admission to your state schools. Don't know if that's true but you should check it out. Do you have the MSAR? If not you should buy it and use it for researching as you develop your school list. And don't be so superior that you consider " DO as a last result". If you really want to be a doctor you'll do what you have to do.

I think OP meant "special", not "student"
