Okay here's the story. I don't have a 4 year degree but I do have a 2 yr degree in nursing. I've been working as a registered nurse for 4 yrs now. I have just a few hours of extracurricular activities (maybe 50 if that). I work as an agency nurse for a huge healthcare system here in town.
However, when I asked the director of pharmacy to shadow any of the pharmacists he first said it was okay and that I should just send him a email on the days I'm available. Sent one, no reply. Called him, no reply.
Asked a floor Pharmacist to put in a good work for me and sent him an email again, no reply. So, I've given up. Don't know why he would do this to me but he did.
My overall gpa is 3.8. My science gpa is 4.0. Taking Orgchem 1 this fall. Have an F in one of my nursing classes but not planning to retake it. At the time I took the class I was going through my divorce and I was a mess don't know why I even thought about going back to school.
I stopped going to class and didn't even care dropping it. The adviser I talked to said that it shouldn't hurt. She said I can just explain it on my personal statement and it will be fine.
Plan is to apply early decision (not saying the school). Have a physician who I've worked with for over two yrs, my physiology professor and my chemistry professor as my references.
I don't know if this will help or I should even say it but the dean Emeritus (still has an office at the school) of the pharmacy department was a former neighbour of my priest. My priest already shoot him an email and he sent me his contacts but I have yet to email him.
According to my priest the dean Emeritus is willing to help me through the application process but don't know what that kind of help will be.
What's your opinion on this? With the low score in QA, no pharmacy experience and very few hours in extracurricular activity do I still have a chance?
