Hi all,

i need some serious help because i have been in so much stress lately to the point that I think I’m getting some heart issues (🙃).

I applied to 10 MD schools and 4 DO school. My secondaries were completed end of july to first week of August.

stats:
502 (127-121-127-127)
4.00
According to people who read my personal statement and secondaries (current med students and advisor) those are good.
Good amount of volunteering and community service
No research

I have not received any interviews nor rejections. I am sooo stressed and don’t know if I’m going to get accepted this cycle or i need to study for the MCAT again. I would really appreciate it if you could share stories similar to my situation or your experiences.

Thank you in advance

If the heart issues are genuine, consider seeking medical care.

Look good for DO. MCAT will hurt more for MD schools. Also it’s important to apply more broadly to maximize your chances. To compare, I applied to nearly 50 schools and only have 3 interviews thus far. So for somebody who has only applied to 10, getting 0 or 1 isn’t in unfathomable. Apply more broadly next year after retaking MCAT. If you get into a do school, I would recommend attending. Best of luck

also consider moving to WAMC section @gyngyn

You should add more DO schools to your application and I suggest these:
MU-COM
DMU-COM
KCU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
CUSOM
VCOM (all schools except Monroe)
PCOM
LECOM (all schools)
WVSOM
ACOM
NYIT-AR
UIWSOM

Do you think i have any chance this cycle? I have not been rejected and haven’t got any interviews. My casper is 4th quartile also. The only terrible thing on my app is my mcat😞.
for MD:
Loma linda (I’m Christian that’s why I applied, have multiple activities on my app as well)
MSU
Central michigan
North carolina
Toledo ohio
Northeast ohio
Wright State University Boonshoft
Tulane
Oakland University William Beaumont
