I'm a reapp and I have a 3.5 GPA cumulative (~3.6 science) and a 27 O Mcat (10P 8V 9B). I have volunteer work, shadowing, research, 2 pubs, and some other work experiences. Do I have a shot at any medical schools? I''m a NY resident so I'm wondering if I have any shot at NY state schools or other low tier allopathic schools.

You pretty much fit into the stereotypicial matriculant - did you only apply to a few places (<10 schools) last time? Did you get an interview? Anyways, you should have no problem as long as you apply widely (20-30 schools) this time around. Good luck.

Definately apply to all the state schools you can in NY...also, go ahead and try Wayne State, Temple, Rosalind Franklin, etc...

I'm surprised you didn't get in last time. Then again, a lot of people who are rejected the first time don't get in for one reason: bad luck. 🙁 I know how it feels.

Good luck this time around! 👍
