I was planning on applying to dental school next year but decided last minute that i should take a chance and just apply this year. here are my stats:

gpa: ~3.0
sci gpa: a bit lower than a 3 🙁
dat aa: 20
dat sci: 21
applying late

applying to
nyu, columbia, tufts, bu, temple

what do u guys think??

Very risky.
I would go for early application next year.

I would add more schools to increase your chances.

I would apply now. Who knows? I was going to wait just like you for better stats and better DAT, but I just decided to apply as a trial run and got accepted and now I am in D school! As the previous poster said, add more schools.

If you do apply now then you must add more schools, specifically schools that have lots of interview slots open and prefer high DAT over a gpa. Your gpa is a problem.

You are going to have a hard time applying this late with a low GPA. Your DAT scores are decent though. I suppose if I were you, unless I was made of $$, I would hold off and apply next year. At best, I agree with the others, add more schools. It will be difficult but you may be able to pull it off if you have something impressive in your bag of tricks. Good luck.
