Where is your state of residence ? When are you planning to apply ?
I was hoping for this cycle but with my MCAT score solidly mediocre, I’m having some second thoughts. However, I am getting on the older side. I live in CT now, but lived in NC for 24 yes.

It is late to apply this cycle for MD schools, especially with your MCAT score. However, it is not late for the DO cycle and you are competitive for most DO schools. Apply to at least 10 DO schools and you should receive interviews (include UNECOM). If you apply to MD schools include these:
UConn
Quinnipiac
Vermont
Albany
New York Medical College
Seton Hall
Penn State
George Washington
NOVA MD
Oakland Beaumont
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
Creighton

A 503 is circling the drain for MD. Chances best at UNC and Brody.
Also try:
Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)
Loyola (maybe)
Rosy Franklin (maybe)
Oakland U Beaumont
WVU
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment) [503+]
Any DO school. I can't recommend Touro-NY, Nova, Wm Carey, LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide.
East TN Quillen IF you live in rural western NC
