What are my options?

So i have a 3.3 gpa. econ major chem minor. Got a D in genetics, 3 C's in non science classes 2 econ and calc 2.
I am going to start my senior at a pretty good university

29 mcat

ECs are quite good
class president, student government treasurer, lab research 2 summers (2 publications), varisty team captain, ncaa all-american finalist, shadowing, ER volunteer, Investment club president, those are the big ones.

I'm taking a gap year but not sure what to do? I was thinking peace corps?
Should I apply to DO's? Or smp because i am just lost. I want to do medicine but I need some guidance or I could be spending the next 5 years trying to get in.

You're fine for DO schools, but I fear you're a weak candidate at best for the low tier MD schools.

Awesome ECs! Try to pull up your grades during the gap year; that's your weak spot, judging from your post. Maybe a master's program? Get your gpa above a 3.5, and MCAT preferably over a 33, and you'll have a good chance at uppermid tier MDs. With a 35+ MCAT, and a 3.7 gpa, you're golden. Work on those grades next year; gluck!
