Trying to make myself as well rounded as possible (only have a 3.0 undergrad GPA because I was immature in college). Currently I don't have much outside of volunteering at the hospital (which is only a few hours a week) and will be going back to school for prereqs starting next week.

My hobbies are boxing (although I'm between gyms at the moment) and I also enjoy surfing. Traveling is something I've done too. But these don't really seem like things that will make me stand out all that much.

What are some things you guys think I should do? I'm applying this December by the way.

Volunteer Volunteer Volunteer. Community service looks great - find an organization that works with people with disabilities or something like that. Admissions loves to see applicants that have given something back to their communities, and that have shown themselves to care for others.

Mine are working a summer program called College Bound which brings in disabled high school students and shows them around college for a week while doing team exercises. It is focused on showing these kids and their parents that the kids CAN go to college.

My other volunteer work is working with the Special Olympics.

I agree with the above poster...volunteer with some "good cause" groups...Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, animal shelters, etc...I don't know how big of a difference it makes in applications, but I do these because I enjoy them. I did them before I ever decided to apply to PT school.
