Greetings everyone,

I would like to know what are the required procedures one needs to complete in order to graduate. I know it varies from school to school. Could someone list the procedures? Does every school teaches one how to do veneers and ortho? Or would I have to do a Pros or Ortho residency to learn this?

Thanks

We have to be able to count to 32 and hold the extraction forceps in the correct hand. I'm not sure what this vaneer stuff is your talking about.

It varies from each school. Every school is going to have their minimum # of operative, perio, extractions, crowns, removable plates, etc. Individual schools may have some misc requirements. You may get the chance to do some veneers, but I doubt that it's a requirement at many schools because of the prices and patient base. Veneers are something a good dentist can teach you how to do well after you graduate. You may also get the chance to do some minor tooth movement in school. Anything more and you need to look into an ortho residency.

Brown nosing is also a requirement for graduation.

I can count to 32 without any problems. The thing is I usually get the numbers mixed up when a patient doesn't have all of the 32 teeth or they're missing a tooth. I had to start the counting over. I hate it when that happens!
