what are YOU doing in preparation for interviews?

anyone predict that election 2004 is a topic adcoms will bring up?

For sure at a place like Arizona! Prepare by getting some sample interview questions. I had one and some of them were asked when I got into the room.

i hardly doubt it that they will ask you political questions. if i remember correctly, interviewers cannot question you on issues such as race, religion, which sex you prefer dating, politics, etc.

you never know though but i doubt you'll have anything like that. the interview is really about them getting to know if you can handle their curr and if you are the who you say you are on paper. they careless if you like Bush or Ket=rry.

good luck on your interviews ladies and gents.

I have heard that Arizona peppers their interviews with questions relating to domestic and international current events - and the election certainly fits those categories.

I am going to bleach my teeth.

current events is one thing. asking politics in my opinion is totally wrong.

i do remember someone being asked if he had a girl friend. WTF?

I would say that if you've never interviewed before find someone to rehearse with ASAP. I completely froze and bombed at my first interview, even though I knew what i wanted to say and practiced in front of the mirror. You need to practice speaking to someone in a highly stressful environment like your life depended on it. In subsequent interviews I did much better, learning from each one, and losing my inhibitions and nervousness.

True, true. Though if that should happen be prepared to diffuse the situation by down playing any hint of partisianship and direct the conversation into neutral territory.

ohh i see!
but, isn't it true that they'd expect you to be abreast of current events and will not hesitate to test you on recent issues? that's why i think they might ask a few q's on the election to asses how informed you are.

but, ok, if you say that's off limits....that's good.

has anyone ever been asked a q about an obscure question.....something from history, for example? what was your reaction?
