I am also not sleeping. Writing a lab report that I kept putting off ... sigh and now the TV is on and distracting me with some old movie with Jessica Simpson? I should turn it off but ... blah

Getting ready for my first day at the new job! 🙂

Getting ready for my first day at the new job! 🙂

Good luck PP!! Today is day 2 for me at the new job, I'm pretty stoked about it 🙂 I hope you like your job as much as I like mine!

Thanks!

All I got to do was online modules and reading protocols for 7.5 hours. Haha I have to learn all of this stuff first before they let me in with the research animals.

Finished watching a documentary with a club and now I just want to work on editing my video, but 1) I did not think to bring headphones and 2) It would probably not be the greatest idea to have headphones during my work shift anyway.

Spring break is almost over and I need to find a new way to start procrastinating again in the coming weeks 😎

Can someone link me to somewhere where the WW games rules are explained? I tried to follow some of the more recent ones, looks fun!

I'm trying to decide if today has been a good day or a bad day. On the one hand, I ate tasty food, I got a bunch of stuff done and have concrete things to do for the next couple of days, and I'm much less anxious about certain things than I was before a meeting I had this afternoon. On the other hand, I had to walk for nearly an hour and a half in very gusty wind, a bunch of what I got done today was unpleasant, a bunch of the stuff I have to do in the next couple of days is unpleasant, and my anxiety about stuff hasn't just gone away, it's been replaced by the urge to hit my head against a tree in frustration at myself, because I now know clearly just how much of a mistake something I did a few months ago was.

We'll see how well this evening goes.

Counting down the days until I graduate in May while trying not to lose my sanity with the amount of work left before actually, you know, completing my degree. I guess this is good time management practice for when I get to vet school. 😳

Embarrassed myself in front of a bunch of cute marine guys thanks to my friend but at least I got a water bottle out of it.

Just finished making notes for a presentation for class next week. I got to mess around on TV tropes for a couple of hours, and it was research! 😀

Eating pizza and the dog is sticking her nose in my face with eyes that say I never feed her. And I just fed her extra dog food so I could eat in peace.

*sigh*

I just got a UV light and some gel nail polish after dropping $60 in a month on salon gel nails. It really helps me keep long nails since mine are so flimsy without help. I hate that there isn't a *good* way to take them off, but they last two weeks and I can do them at home in about 30 minutes (I'll probably get faster with some practice). I like it.

Also, going to get the husband's new car tomorrow. They had to drive it down from KS. He wanted the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with a long wheel base. So particular, that guy. I, in turn, inherited his 2012 Sonata SE. So now I start my car with a button... lol! But the most important thing... he's installing my sub into it on Sunday. Gotta have bass. I'm so obnoxious. 😀

My roommate got a new car a few weeks ago and I lost it when he opened the trunk and showed me. The previous owner put a 16 inch sub in, except after he wired it in he then literally just threw it in the trunk, so there's just this fat box that sits loose in there

(the car runs fine and cost next to nothing so that's why roomie bought it)

Trying to study for my physics exam...last undergrad thing and it's so hard to get motivated. I still have like 10 homework sets to look through and I just spent way too long color-coding my formula sheet.

I am trying so hard to study for developmental biology. But...I just....ugh. Open book, eat, look at notes, eat, turn page, eat.... :smack:

well that just about sums up my day too.

I am so over physics right now.

Late night dinner and drink run with friends 😀

Started reading book one of A Song of Ice and Fire 🙂

I'm on the most recent one right now. I really love it. Have you watched the tv series at all?

An absolutely AMAZING series, one of the most engaging authors I've read in a long time. You will love it!

Just don't get too emotionally attached to any of the characters. Seriously, George RR Martin kills off characters like it's going out of style, and it nearly makes me cry (or does) every stinking time...

Learned that quick

Yeah, I'm on the current episode. Normally I like to read things first before I watch a series/movie, but school kept me busy. In this case I don't mind being a bit ahead of the book, with so many characters already being able to put a name to a face will let me read it much faster. No pausing to think, "wait a sec...who is this guy again?" Or flipping back to look it up. I'm awful, awful, awful at remembering names in real life, and it translates to my reading  I do much better with faces.

So true. I can't help but get attached because I get really into books. Every time I'm like, "Why, Martin?! WHY?!"

I was just going to say that the series will tend give you information that you wouldn't know from the books yet. It annoyed me because I wanted to read a book, watch a season, read the next book, watch the next season, etc., but the extra information from the tv series made me stop watching after season 2. I can almost begin watching again, though, so I'm very excited about that 👍

I do have to agree, though, that it's much easier to keep people straight when you have an actor's face to go along with it! I just have to keep in mind things like that Tyrion is supposed to be wicked ugly, not handsome 😛

I got home from the airport at midnight, it is now 4am, and I'm leaving for the airport again in about half an hour. About to start my whirlwind Asiadventure!

Waiting to hear from my mom about my older sister, who is about to be put under a GA for a C-section. ETA: Baby B is happy and healthy and being fussed over by proud dad and grandma, while waiting for my sister to wake up. Given that she's gotten minimal sleep since her pre-labour contractions started on Wednesday, that could be awhile.

Watching the news about all the damage in Moore, OK. Holy moly.

Had to google it. WOW 😱

As for what I am doing: I am ashamed at how much clothing I have. 😳 Going through it all to sell off a TON. It's not a good sign when you go through a tub and actually forgot you owned most of it. And the selection spans 4 different sizes!

I am obsessing over a cat I've become attached to and wish I could adopt at the shelter I volunteer at. Volunteered there for two years without getting too attached to any cats but seeing how everyone walks by this sweetie just because he's an older guy is killing me🙁

I feel exactly the same way about one of the cats at the shelter--that cat isn't the nicest and isn't very old. However, she looks just like my two cats and share some of the same mannerism. I really want her but I have two cats who hate each other and adding her (who also doesn't like other cats) is just asking for trouble...

Trying to find where to make my first post on these forums while I peruse a million posts for info.

And it looks like the first post will be here!
