I'm thinking of selling a bunch of my books from 1st and 2nd year and I'd like to know what other people have sold or kept.

So far I'm thinking of keeping Robbins, a micro and pharm book, Harrison's, and a few others.

I would definitely keep Harrison's, this is a big help for IM, FP, and any medicine electives, and I would keep the pharm book, and the micro-book if it has alot of clinical info. Robbins path is a little dated in some aspects, and it not concise enough for looking up the pathophysiology of some diseases.

Don't keep anything except a good anatomy textbook, and even that might be useless if you aren't going into a surgical subspecialty.

everything u need can be found on the internet. your school must have a subscription to uptodate and other online textbooks.

robbins is useless for clinical medicine. a micro book would be useless and clinical micro is different than the micro in the texts. pharm books are useless as nobody needs to know that much. harrison's is a good book to kee but it along with cmdt (a better book) can be found online. i would sell harrison's and use that money to buy cmdt. its the best book for 3rd year, period.

What's cmdt?

I agree that really none of the basic science books are that useful for 3rd and 4th year. Anything you need to know is on UpToDate or other places online and is much easier to look up online than to search through a textbook. The books you'll need are concise review books for each clerkship, like first aid, blueprints, etc.
I did keep Robbin's, but only because I'm considering going into pathology...I haven't used it once all year...but my Path elective is in less than two weeks, we'll see if i use it at all then.

Harrisons, robbins, netter... I was silly and kept everything...
