I'm going to take DAT January 2010. I'd like to improve my R/C over next two months. What do you guys recommend to do for this section in daily basis. I'm thinking about reading journals and articles. But what other ways?? Any advices greatly appreciated.

a title with that kind of grammer... I'm not sure if you're gonna make it! hahaha

I'll assume that was a typo,

For RC your idea of reading journals is definitely a great start, reading scientific magazines are also a good idea. The MAIN thing to do when trying to improve RC is creating your own strategy. Read other peoples, learn from there mistakes, and test out their methods in order to make something unique that works for YOU. I only hit a 19, and I know that was strictly because I didn't practice my strategy enough..

Hope this helps

PS. use the search tool

I suggest you get your hands on as many practice RC passages as you can. Reading journals is great, but you also have to practice answering RC-type questions in reference to a passage. For me, RC was less about reading fast and more about connecting the questions back to the passage.

where did you get your rc practice tests?

I think the most important thing you need to do well on RC is a solid strategy. I spent all of my RC study time soley devoted to figuring out how to get the highest score in the shortest time rather than actually becoming a faster reader. I settled on the "search and destroy" method where you just go to the questions and look them up 1 by 1 in the passages.

Get a bunch of sample RC tests and just work on different strategies and see what gets you the best score in the least time. I got a 24 on RC and had several minutes left over at the end.

What other RC resources do u recommend, besides, Kaplan, DAT Achiever, Top Score, Crack DAT Reading, and Barron? Thanks.

to save everyone some time and money, do NOT Godfrey's 10 RC tests. The questions are way too easy and the passages, or should i say "novellas" are ridiculously long.
