What COMBANK scores are equal to passing the COMLEX STEP 2? Percentage? Does the 63% really mean 90% probability? What do you think?

I do not recommend taking the exam with only a 63% on the combank because I did so and I failed with a 74.... I would recommend a score above 67% preferably above 70%...

Difficult to say. It used to be about that, but fall 2009 NBOME changed the grading scale and currently the overall pass rate is about 84% (a significant drop). I took the exam after the grading scale change and was running 70-75% on COMBANK consistently. I passed quite comfortably, above the mean and higher than my level 1 score.

I did combank on my first and second attempt at step 2, averaged circa 90-95% and failed the real thing both times...I wouldnt put too much stock in their guarantee, although as other posters have said, I wouldnt be too satisfied with 63%.

Seriously?

Doc-
I wasnt meaning to boast, nor was I meaning to set in motion a whole other thread about the value of these question banks.
While there is NO one source that will help you pass step 2 (my opinion), using combank/comquest (either one) is the closest thing there is to the actual thing. The question styles are similar, the vague and 'wtf?' questions are there, and the ethics section is pretty decent as well.

Sorry if my post was too demoralizing,

I agree with Jonathan. Every qbank is different. Getting 80% in COmbank may still mean you can do poorly or better on the real exam. Comquest, QBank, USMLERx all have different scale for scoring. Even if Combank says that 72% is needed to pass with a high probability it is not certain.

Achristo did you mean that you received a 74 on the real test or 74% on the Combank?
To other people that post. If not combank. What q bank and with what percentage do you recommend to have a high chance to pass?

Got it. I always go by the three digit score. The 74 did not click with my brain, to much studying.

Intense worrier here,
Did all 1300 Combank step 2 ?s--> 64% first time through.
Also did COMSAE step 2 test A about 1/2 through combank --> 433
going through combank again nd over my notes i made from correct/incorrect answers, about 25 pages, hope that gets me to an 80/475. test on 8/23. will update.

Just took my step 2 on monday. I felt the questions were very similar to my combank ?s. Lots of repeats and lots of questions I got right after having seen them on combank. Also were alot of things I was expecting to see that I didnt. Lots of peds which sucks for me. Omm was good. Not too many annoying ethics ?s, maybe 10-12. I scored 64% first time through combank, 88% second time through. I felt about the same as I did after step 1 and was right around 500. I will update in 5 weeks.

I think I had a 65-70% the first time through and ended up with a 613. I did UW beforehand and had a 70% and then did comquest afterward and had something like a 70%.

I was going though the thread, and you never posted how you did. So I'm just wondering if you did well
