I am curious if a poll was made for people who wrote a strong letter of interest to the school you are implying, how many got a response with "we will keep you very strongly in mind." For your and my sake I hope not many, but I am guessing not.
 
Maybe it's a crapshoot.

I sent a letter of interest, got no response, and then DID get an acceptance. So who knows...

I did undergrad at Vandy. I have been accepted to med school (w00t), but I'm still waiting to hear from one school in particular.

And there were also coupons for Popeye's as well. IMHO, Popeye's has the best biscuits ever. mmm biscuits.

:scared: today i got nothing, yesterday i got nothing, for the 24 days before that i got nothing.. and so i wait, and wait and wait...
 
A new Time magazine, a new Entertainment Weekly magazine, and a coupon for a bar that sells slushies.
 
i got an email interview invite to UMaryland for Feb 26. Yay!
 
I got a note from SUNY downstate to clarify my activities from Spring 2001!!!! I wasn't rejected!!!!

(let it be known I was _not_ incarcerated at the time)
 
Three separate email confirmations of my last-ditch-attempt update letter to Mount Sinai. All received about 15 minutes apart from each other.

(does that mean you really, really like it? 🙄 )

That means I'm only accepting rejection if they remember to mail three letters as well.
 
Just an hour ago, I walked into the Harvard admissions office and received this conversation:
(context: I've not been rejected, but know these are the last interview days. I figure I'm in Boston for a few days, might as well give it a shot...)

Me: "Hi, umm, I'm a new pathways applicant--you guys are done giving out interviews aren't you?"
Him: "Yes."
Me: "Well, I guess that's that then eh?"
Him: "Yeah."
Me: "Well, thanks."

I walk out of the office and smile at two interviewees in suits.

🙁

hmmm..maybe next application cycle?

today i received an email from the school i'm interviewing at next week, saying that they have tons of people for me to meet with.

i'm anxiously awaiting going home and checking my mail b/c i think there will be a letter from UAB in there. 😱
 
I received a phone call from my Mom. She has been accepted into a very prestigious BSN program. She is going to be a nurse!😛 After all these years caring for her children she is finally ready to go to college!😀 Yeah! We might end up working together. That would be awesome! 😍

You received a phone call about an interview invite? I thought they only send stuff in the mail and show on the status page...?
 
I got a million facebook comments (it's my bday). None of them were from Emory though🙁 .
 
🙁 not a single thing from any of the schools....but i did my credit card bill
 
Nothing. It has been like this for last 3 months. I have reached a record high 7 pre-interview holds, about which I found out by calling. Other than that it has been a cold winter of despair.
 
An application for Teach for America that is due in four days. 😕

Email from VCU telling me to check their website for my status. After checking it says I MAY be offered an interview but they are not sure yet and to keep checking back at the website to see if I have been offered. Hmm cant you just email me when there is more status becuase that was a waste of time.

that sounds dumb cant they just send you an email saying they are offering you an interview? that has got to be the dumbest update, "WE MAY OFFER YOU AN INTERVEW?" damn thats dumb

Seriously, so far all I had was my one interview with SUNY Downstate (which I would love to go to btw). But just having one interview doesn't exactly make one feel like they're getting in this year. Now I think my chances just doubled :luck:

Still gotta schedule the interview...can't wait!

BTW it was via e-mail but I guess that's receiving something right? lol

got this as well. anyone know what it really means? VCU interviews for just 2 more weeks. why drive our hopes up??
 
after "pending review" since july .......today i get a status update of "denied!🙁🙁

and even though they interview for just two more weeks, when i asked their adcom office, they said that they send out the last batch of invitations by email two weeks before the last day they interview, the last day of interviews being end of feb...

if you havent been given a real invitation from vcu yet, then youre file is basically closed

I guess VCU is one of those schools that goes from complete to rejection with nothing in between then..? My status page hasnt changed since Oct 17. A simple rejection would be nice.
 
I thought I should give up on my alma mater .....but they actually sent me some love pre-V day. Got sec request yesterday ...it's too late in the process now ....but it wouldn't hurt to turn it in anyway. Still waiting for some more luv !!

i got my credit card bill today - the one with all the travel/interview expenses 🙁
