I third the NYU rejection letter...I guess it's time for those 'we don't reject anyone during the interview season' rejection letters to come rolling in...bummer 🙁
 
I got the waitlist from NYU. I'll give it a go.

I'm going to have to say this applies equally to the UMich letter I just received. But I'm excited to go home and get my NYU letter out of the mail box.

Step 2, put the rejection letters in the box.
Step 3, make the poor sap that spent his life savings on med school apps open the box.
And that's the way we do it. It's a dick in a box.

I got an invite on the 17th of Feb, and I withdrew yesterday....maybe you'll get the open slot...

relax, most post-interview non-acceptance decisions from nyu seem to be waitlists, i.e. prolonged rejections, i.e. i've come to think of nyu's admissions process as complete ****e.
 
i went to nyu as an undergrad and i second their adcom being a complete ass. they are money hungry who want to take over the world, one building at a time.

Nothing in the mail today, but yesterday I was waitlisted at NYU and rejected from The University of Kentucky... though they had never even sent me a secondary? I wonder why it took them so long to tell me that I had no family ties to the state of Kentucky. So strange. 😕

Wow, I went there for undergrad too before I transferred out east on LI. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I swear, every other building in Manhattan is owned by them.

NYU pre-interview rejection yesterday <shrug>
Temple rejection pre-interview (wtf omg - wasn't expecting that today bbq) -Bye bye staying in Philly option number two. 🙁 :scared:

Why are my nonranked state schools rejecting me while I'm getting top tier/ranked OOS invites? I'm NOT complaining, but this process makes no sense to me!

Congrats on making it into USC! I would imagine any acceptance cancels out just about all bad news for about a month. lol. Do you mind if I ask when you interviewed there, and if you were waitlisted? Thanks, and congrats!
 
rejected from Mich...still keeping my hopes up for random schools which I'm on hold at.

yes it surely cancelled it out, by far... I interviewed 1/31 and was never put on a waitlist...

GWU, app will be kept in active status letter. Weird because I remember them emailing me back to confirm that my file has been pulled when I requested a withdrawal. 😕

No clue. My sister called and told me (fam lives in northern CA and gets late mail - which means sometimes they get things on earlier days than places with early mail). She was like, "there was finally a letter today, but it wasn't good news" (she's 13). me- "NYU's rejection letter? Finally!" Her - "Yeah, well, we didn't care about them anyway." (she speaks for the community 'we' - all my friends and fam in CA, which strictly want me to move back to CA, i'm almost afraid she'd hide mail that would give me outside-CA opportunities). Then we talked about the new puppy being neutered. Ah fun.
 
Got the boot from MSU...OSU on Tuesday.
 
Ok, it was received yesterday - not today - but I heard from UPitt after I had a 1/9 or 10 interview. Just as promisted it was approx. 6 - 8 weeks before I heard ANYthing. So happy! YAY! 😀

I got that same letter from GWU. Both Georgetown and GWU have really confused me. 😕 Anyone understand their application process at all?
 
A call from Loyola letting me know I am on the waitlist....must mean something though that they called, I hope!
 
NYU rejection and Upstate Invite on the same day ( I cheated because I was outta town but getting them both together softened the blow.) Why was I mad even though anyone who obviously didn't get an invite in January was gonna get rejected?

I just got an interview invitation from UCLA...YAY!!!!! It's my first one too! If I weren't at work right now, I would be screaming and jumping up and down!

Edit: For those of you who want to know my stats (since I've been getting a lot of pm's about it) they are: 34Q, 3.5 science and overall. I went to UCLA for undergrad, and I work at the hospital now too.

I received a scholarship today! Yay! I finally had something to add to this thread.

Actually, I didn't see the thread when I was rejected from UCSF, so I guess one good and one not so wonderful thing, but maybe a good thing too...
 
Received my OHSU "hold" letter today. *tucks self into a long wait for May*
 
Today, I received a rejection from Temple, in the mail. I figured I might as well go update the "Wall of Shame" and added the rejections that I have received this week...Temple, South Carolina, and UCLA.

And then, after that post, I did status checks, and found out I was rejected from Vermont. So I had to go back and edit my own Wall of Shame post.

And the D.O. school that I interviewed at, yesterday, made acceptance phone calls today, and I didn't receive one.

What a crappy day. 🙁

🙁 I got my UVM rejection the same way the other day. It was a top choice for me too. 🙄

Well I would say something positive or encouraging but let's be real....this process suuuuuucks!!!! 😡 😉
