ucsf pharmacy is my dream.

i really want to get in the school.

but, i don't know what to do. they say they don't require pcat.

what should i do to be outstanding?

and i am in a community college and am about to transfer to a 4 year

college in coming fall. actually, i finished all prerequistes except public

speaking at the cc and got 4.0 gpa. is it gonna be a disadvantage?

plz, tell me what to do. thank you.

UOP might accept you because I have a friend who was actually accepted directly from community college. As for UCSF, you need to do better than that.

To avoid discouraging you, I would say polish your leadership portfolio and experience in the health field.

In cali - it comes down to the classes you take, how well you do in them, and the extra curriculars you did while you were in school.

Transfer to your 4 yr university - I wouldn't retake my pre-reqs, I would however take difficult upper division courses in hard sciences (not upper level art courses). Do very well in all of your courses - at a minimum. Also get involved in your organizations and community. You do not have to be in all of the orgs, instead do a few strong ones and be very involved.

Finally - if you are not yet certified, get certified to be a tech. You have to show that you are ready to be a pharmacist - you don't get there by not being in a pharmacy.

Use this forum to seek out others that have already done what you desire to accomplish. Use the search function to find threads about UCSF - and then pose more questions to them. This board has a LOT of resources - use them and it will certainly aid in your growth.
