Hi,

I am curious, what info do program directors see prior to downloading the entire app? Can they see if the person is a DO or MD applicant, and if the USMLE was taken and what were the scores prior to downloading the entire app?

The reason I ask is that I am a DO applicant and although I did well on Comlex 1, I did not take USMLE step 1 (which I now know many programs look at). Instead of restudying for step 1, I chose to take USMLE step 2 back in August along with Comlex 2 and am currently awaiting my results. I noticed that some programs have downloaded my app (12/31), but many others have not. I am not sure if this is because it is still very early or if I am screened first prior to downloading my app (DO applicant/no USMLE step 1 scores).

Thanks in advance for any info!

There is a lot of variability in when programs start downloading apps. Many won't download a thing until Dean's letters are in after Nov. 1. Some may have not loaded in this years ERAS software yet. Don't sweat it right now, begin calling if they haven't DL'd it after say Nov 4th.

Agree with above.
You can't truly go by what ERAS says has been downloaded and what not. If you really look, you'll see that some programs were downloading applications at 3 AM EST or something crazy. Weird. And it will also say one certian part of the app was downloaded like 30 times.
