Hi everyone! So I'm currently on track to graduate in December, and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on what to do with that extra time. I've thought about study abroad, service trips, just working at home, etc. but wanted some other opinions! Especially if you or someone you know has had a gap semester!

Thanks!

EDIT: and wow, just noticed the error in the title, my bad!

Depending on your shadowing hours and your LORs getting some consistent shadowing at a clinic and thus getting a dentist letter might be something to look into. I am assuming that you already have your DAT or I would say start studying. Other than that following your thoughts are not a bad way to go about it. If your app looks mostly complete do something fun like a study abroad or service trip since that will give you something to talk about.

Are you planning on beginning dental school the August after you graduate? I graduated in December as well which gave me a little over half of a year to do something. Having already been accepted to dental school, I personally decided to work, save money so that I could take less money out in loans once the tuition bill came, and use the vacation time at my job to travel. It was a good mix of work/travel, and saved me a decent amount of money.

Good luck!

I graduated this past December and start school in August. I worked, did a little traveling, and hung out with old friends.
