What do you do if you are accepted into more than one school?

So odd question...
I am seeing a lot of accepted to 3-5 schools, but to my understanding you have 2-4 weeks before you have to send in your deposit into a school that you were accepted into. So what happens if you are waiting on your first choice and you are running out of time to accept on a school that is down your list? Do most people send in the deposit for many schools and then weigh the options later? Or do you just jump at the first chance you get and say good-bye to your first choice?
My first choice isn't interviewing till late February (with acceptance letters coming in March) but I have interviews this month (with acceptance letter a week later). I am nervous if I do get in to my non-top choice, do most people send in the deposit but still hope for my top school and complete the process for that? Do people send in multiple deposits (expensive!!!!!).
What does everyone else do?? 😳

It's a little bit of a game from here.

I had three acceptances, each perfectly positioned about 1 week past the deadline of the previous' deposit.

I took a gamble and passed on the first acceptance which would have cost me 1k to save the seat. I got lucky and got into school 2. Then I put down 1k for school 2, and forfeited that when I got into school 3.

It's really a balance between which schools you could see yourself at, what you think your chances are, and the price of the deposits. Sometimes its worth that 1k to have that sense of security knowing you are going somewhere.

I got accepted to my #2 school 5 months before my #1 school. I paid the 1k deposit because you can't risk not saving your seat if you don't get in to the other. $1,000 isn't much compared to what you will be earning once you're done with school. Pay the deposits - at least one other than your first choice or you may regret it.

I think you should pay the deposit, and if you get in somewhere else then re-evaluate.

Please share information regarding University of WA and University of Ca, San Diego. I've been accepted to both but can not make up my mind.

Speaking of which....I paid my deposit at 2nd choice then my first choice accepted me bout 1 week later. It turns out the the account from which the check was drawn was different from the intended account (my accounting error) so I ended up bouncing the check to school choice 2!!!!! Now I'm in a dilemma because I have declined school choice 2, now that I have choice 1, however all would have been fine, except that I bounced the deposit check to choice 2 and they have not received it. I don't know what to do......should I reissue a 2nd check, even though am no longer goin to that school to meet up with my promise, or do i just not and save the money. At this point I would like to be fair but I don't know what fairness is in this case....PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSE HELP!!!!:scared::scared:

thanks
