Hey everyone!

I've seen a lot of good posts lately to get people's minds off of Dec 1 (not like it's coming up or anything), and decided to make a similar post, to try to get a better feel of what the fellow SDNers are up to outside of dentistry (and to get peoples minds off the fact that, yes, there are 34 days to go).

So what does everyone do for fun or just to relieve some stress?

For me, I love to workout and do a lot of cardio. Also like to play music (been playing sax and drums for a while and recently keyboard); cooking and floor hockey are some others too!

This is a common interview question

I recently joined a soccer team and it's a great help ! release the kraken on field.
Soccer is great; I love playing indoor with friends in the winter. Im trying to join a league for indoor or outdoor actually haha

Definitely exercise. Lifting and cardio are both great stress reliefs with many proven benefits besides weight loss (decrease in depression and anxiety, increase in congitive function).

Also, go out with your friends. Take a night off. Have a drink (or 10).

I do a lot of fishing and canoeing on my spare time. Pretty relaxing and a good way to enjoy the outdoors.

Netflix and chill with bae (Barefoot and Edy's) (and my roommates I don't drink alone I promise)

Other going out type activities

Travel and scuba

Soccer and swimming and marathoning

You know the slang definition of "Netflix and chill" is going at it with Netflix in the background to drown out the sounds, right?

I love to bake! Unfortunately, I love to eat all I bake so I need to find something better to do.

:hardy:

I like to mountain bike (just crashed tonight ironically), play hockey, play fetch with my dog, go boating on Minnesota's beautiful lakes, and marathon through Netflix shows. Oh and snowmobiling when we have enough snow.

I unleash a different Kraken myself.

Also sex. Always sex.

Reread all 7 Harry Potter books in a week because this is the year Harry sent Albus Severus to Hogwarts.

Binge eat.

Run.

Ahh I'm doing the same thing!! Currently finishing up book 7 🙂. I highly recommend also rewatching all the movies: I found them even more moving given how emotionally compromised I am at this point in the application cycle (read: I cried even more at all the deaths) haha

I just finished rewatching the movies and like always, I balled my eyes during snapes memories scene.

I'm definitely putting that on the list haha. Id also like to read A Series of Unfortunate Events- not sure if you've read them.
Haha sweet! I read a couple of them years ago and I think I enjoyed them. Let me know what you think when you start reading them and maybe I'll pick back up with the series!

I have never seen the Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince, or either of the Deathly Hallows movies, so I've got some work to do.
I stopped watching at Order of the Phoenix and I refuse to see the rest. The first movie was great, it was all downhill from there in my opinion. I don't think you're missing anything. #sorrynotsorry

(And my love for the books is deep and everlasting, so it's not for lack of interest in HP.)

In all seriousness....pizza...working out...sushi....maybe a little boozin.....perhaps a side of netflix and chill....and fishing for hella likes on SDN

And I finally started watching TV shows....how to get away with murder is so good

Whoa see I'm the total opposite. The first two movies were alright but they were literally just clones of the books being (IMO) boringly posted on screen. I thought things started to get good at the third movie because there was finally a bit of creativity being mixed in there. Each movie is of debatable merit, and no visual media will ever stack up to the book except maybe Narnia where the books had no content in them to begin with. I'm a huge fan of the books, but if I wanted the same experience as the books I would just read the books.

Lol truth. I'm all about dat canon, so the differences in the movie adaptation bugged me. Also, here's a photo of me:

Agreed thats how I felt. Once it got to the Goblet of Fire, you knew it aint gonna be peaches and cream no more!

didn't know it was an interview question, I thought OP was just curious. Of course I'd say something completely different during an interview lol
I was asked this question at every interview but Michigan.
