I am currently in a community college and am holding a 4.0 gpa. I didnt graduate from high school w/ a diploma (I received my GED). I am taking most of my classes for my bachelors at the CC, Organic, Physics Etc.. I will be transferring to a four year to finish up my bachelors soon. If I hold my GPA up and do great on the DAT what do you think my chances for dental school are. I am also a member of National Honors Society and Phi Theta Kappa and such. Any recomendations would help to. Thanks, James

hi taxiguy! It sounds like you and I did the exact same thing!
I emailed a couple of schools and I think it really shouldn't matter too much that you took most of your sciences at a CC, as long as you transfer to a 4-year and show that you can handle those upper division courses. Some schools are picky though, and told me they're rather you take most of your prerequisites at a 4-year. But, I know several people that have gotten acceptances with CC prerequisites. I think the best thing to do really is ace the DAT and show them that you actually learned something in the community college.

You will be fine.

The only exceptopn might come from schools that require your high school transcripts (Harvard, UCLA, etc). They may look down on the fact that you didnt get a diploma but if you have a 4.0 and a great DAT, I can't see it hurting you too bad.

Don't sweat it!

Thanks guy for the heads up. I was sweating the thought of getting all the way there and getting rejected. Thanks, again
