What are your thought on working for 2 different retail chains at the same time. I am not getting enough hours at one chain so decided to apply to another. Told the pharmacy manager that I already have a job at another store and plan to keep that one also. Any potential problems that I am not foreseeing?

I think this has been discussed a few times before, if it were me I would work for an independent on the side instead of another chain. There could be the potential for conflict of interest either way, I'm not sure all employers would like the idea too much.

Yes there could be some problems depending on which chains you're working at. It is policy for some that you cannot work for their competitors. However, it seems that your store manager would've pointed it out after you told him or her (or even during your orientation when you first started.) I guess it could differ depending on how it's enforced or what area you're in though.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST....most chain stores will not let you work for another chain store at the same time- this is how lawsuits start...be careful!!!

I've heard of plenty of people doing this, but I think the key is just making sure management at both stores know that you are doing it and approve.

It's actually nice to work at two different places because then you can decide which company you like better...
