I'm awake now. And really tired. Thanks, guys, for contributing to my insomnia 😛 Also, I'm going to get a new phone today... a Blackberry Pearl, so I can be connected allll the time. Is this an unhealthy obsession? Haha

i had the pearl for a month. it's a sweet phone. but i got tired of typing with my nails. i got the curve (this phone is freakin awesome). 😀

everyone keeps telling me to get the curve, but I don't think sprint offers it, I'll have to check when I get to the store

I know you didnt ask me, but here is my .02 on getting a TT (Time Trial) bike. Go to your local dealer and have them fit you for one. The TT is different in specs from a regular road bike. So the fit is VERY important. Purchase last years model you could save almost half on the price or jump on ebay and get the same bike for a little less. My recommendation is to get a Road bike first and get used to cycling before you think about getting a TT. I have seen a number of people go out and buy a 2k bike, brand new wetsuits, and all the gear. Just to get into their first TRI and walk away hating it. Ease into it slowly. My first Tri bike was a KHS. 800 bucks. I rented a suit and bought some really good shoes (make sure they are broken in before you race in them) hehehe.

I think it would be far easier for you to find a good bike at a bike shop, check out several of them and come back and ask questions about them before you buy it and I am sure there are enough TRI athletes on here that could help you out.

thanks, OCHO! Great suggestions. I have a bike shop right down the street from my house, maybe I can find something. Like you said, I just hate to spend all that money for a sprint tri, especially if I end up hating it (doubtful).

Oooh I'm jealous! I want a new phone! I've been trying to hold out for the 3G iphones that are supposed to be coming out this summer.

You know I love the iphone, but I have to say that you are wise to wait for the new models to come out because I have some issues with mine that I hope they are going to fix with these new ones i.e. you can't text to more than one person at a time, the touch-screen qwerty takes some getting used to, and there are few programs that are compatible with the iphone such as G-chat. But I have do love it and think it's a great investment so I hope you get one 😀
 
I'd love an iPhone, but I'm stuck with Sprint 🙁

I'll have to check it out, I'm leaving any minute to go to the store, but I'm waiting for my dad, because I'm still on the family plan and he has to sign something for me to get a new phone. Makes me feel like i'm 12. Thanks for the suggestion.

OCHO, thanks again. I thought about using a mountain bike, but have heard horror stories from people about it. I'm pretty sure the biking part will be the worst part for me, so I want a halfway decent bike. I'll let you know how I make out!

Also, I'm pretty excited because I just figured out how to do multiple quotations. :idea:

update to the new software from itunes, you get to now text to more than one person at a time, find urself through google maps using some sort of gps locator, and some other stuff.

:laugh: It took me so long to figure out how to do that! Still when I do it I click the ones I want to quote and then I can't figure out why the reply box hasn't popped up when I haven't even clicked the reply button. 😳

You click the "multi quote this message" button to the right of the "quote" button (it will turn red when it's on) for all the quotes that you want to reply to. You can go through and quote posts from different people and respond to them all at the same time. Once you've selected all the quotes you want you go to "post reply" and all the quotes will show up with the proper code. 😉

That was Balmorhea, like 8 hrs south west of us. There is also some fun day diving out in Santa Rosa NM or for a short drive go to CSSP in Terrell.

I am a PADI diver, I actually got certified with a dive shop out of Denver but my local LDS is Scuba Toys.

I would love to get certified but I don't know when I will be able to afford it unfortunately. 🙁 Plus I don't know if I'm quite ready to see myself, or have anyone else see me in a wet suit. :meanie:

lol.. wetsuits arn't as bad as you think... I like to think I am James Bond since all my gear is black. Except for my pink mask 🙂

Triathlon wet suits suck.

Mine does anyway.

Actually, its not that bad, but its too much for TX. I bought it with Escape from Alcatraz in mind, and the swim is like 50 degrees for that.
