Are upper division science classes like 200 level and up or what? For example, would a class titled Molecular Biology 240 be considered upper div?

I had always thought of upper level classes as 300 or higher, but I'm not sure there's a set definition, especially because universities label their classes differently.

Usually classes designated for Juniors & Seniors such as 300 or 400 level classes. I wouldn't say that class is upper level if it's a 200 lvl class.

For me it was:

100 - entry level intro, intended for underclassmen with no prerequisites
200 - lower level, usually underclassmen, might have a 100 level prereq or be more subject-specific than a 100 level intro

300 - upper level, usually upperclassmen, usually has low level (100) prereqs.
400 - upper level, usually upperclassmen within that major, often has a few prereqs including 300 levels and is often the highest level for undergrad (will often have "Advanced" in the name)

500 - graduate classes, senior thesis research credits
