we wait until December 1st and hope for an acceptance. but if we don't get the acceptance are we automatically wait-listed or do we get a rejection at that point?

The admission process is usually not placed on auto pilot.

^thanks, quite helpful.

There are usually post-dec interviews, all the applications are re-evaluated and the rest of the class is accepted.

well, for example, buffalo will make a decision (acceptance, rejection, or wait-list) like an hour after you leave the interview day. But they won't let us know anything until December 1st.

However, they also told us (other schools as well) that if we don't get an acceptance by Dec 1st, it doesn't mean you won't get in, it just means it might still happen sometime after

I really don't like to think about post-interviews, its no longer in your hands

@dentalworks- i know what you mean. my fear is that after pre-dec interviews, december 1st comes around and i don't get any acceptances, waitlists, or rejections and will be left in suspense.

That is part of the game.

That is part of the game.

Definitely agree. Plus, waiting on national board/clinical board scores is a waiting game as well. I remember having to wait on these scores for my RDH licensure...a couple of the most intense months ever!
