I know the matching forms and all that stuff cannot be done until June 2nd. I've attended more than one university and the thing that I'm worried about is what if one of them forgets to send the transcript with the matching form. I'll be clear in my instructions when I submit the request, but I won't be able to go there in person and after calling two universities where I have to submit the transcript request online but then fax the matching form I'm starting to get worried that there is potential that the matching form will get overlooked somehow.

Here's my take. You just hope they'll process it anyway. As long as it arrives after June 2 (you know some clowns out there are trying to get them in before the cycle opens), I really don't see them discarding official transcripts that don't have forms attached. I've never been to the AADSAS factory, but I'd suspect that the fat barcode at the top of the form is to quickly scan to pull up your application so they can verify it. Do your best. Maybe request a second one a week later at the institution(s) in question. I did that for one of my schools because I didn't like the vibe I got from the gal behind the counter. She looked like she was good at messing thing up. But apparently she took care of business the first time because both transcripts showed up. I should go back and see how she's doing.

If they don't attach the matching form, it's fine and probably just an annoyance for AADSAS. It will take them a few extra days to link it to your account. No worries. I sent my transcript update (in the fall) without a matching form--no issues whatsoever.

Directly from AADSAS: http://www.adea.org/dental_educatio...adianTranscriptsMatchingForms.aspx#question10

Q: What happens if I do not forward the Transcript Matching Form to the registrar's office to attach to my transcripts?

A: Official transcripts sent without the appropriate Transcript Matching Form may result in the delay of your application.

So yeah, they still do it--it just takes a bit longer, supposedly. I'm sure plenty of transcripts get sent without the form.

Thanks so much, guys! I feel better now. I'm glad I called the schools because the people I talked to had no idea what transcript matching forms were and I had to explain the process to them. I think I'll call again next week, put it in the special request section of the transcript request form in capital letters, and then attach a cover letter to the matching form. Potentially overkill, but it'll work out.

@jeffity I don't understand why anyone would think to submit a transcript before the application service has anything to attach it to (such as a created application). The whole first batch thing can't be that crazy! LOL I hope it works out for them! I'm still taking the DAT at the end of July so I'm a little more relaxed about it because I won't be complete until after my scores are in.

@Glimmer1991 Thanks for the link! I must have overlooked that one when I searched because there was another FAQ that emphasized that matching forms MUST be attached.

Fantastic! I don't even read stuff these days. I just make stuff up as I go along on here. I'm probably going to get someone rejected if I'm not careful. Although, it is our duty to protect the future of the profession...hmm...

transcript matching form isn't necessary. I didn't send them with multiple transcripts and they still "received" them very quickly. I would think they are more important if you have a very common last name..that could potentially lead to a mix-up but it shouldn't. Even if it did it wouldn't go very far since they have to verify coursework anyway.

I did the same thing. Sent all of my transcripts (except one) without a matching form - and they were all processed within a week-two weeks. No problem at all.
