What happens if you get kicked out of residency?

Welcome to this brave new world of Internet outrage and virtual lynching.

It's more then lulz. There is some definite bent up frustration with cute, privileged girls that sets the internet trolls on a war path. The obsession some people have with this girl is pretty pathetic.

I think this is a big part of it -- This gal is emblematic of a larger social problem whereby cute little princesses are tacitly encouraged to misbehave, feeding the whole hot/crazy stereotype. Even her tattoo ("Though she be but little she is fierce") speaks to her self-image and persona. Entitled little cuties pull a lot of crap and get away with lots of thing other people don't. Hence the unseemly and perhaps disproportionate glee when this one doesn't get away with this particular bad act.

Does the punishment fit the crime? Dunno. This may be one of the first times one of her tantrums actually got punished. More discipline much earlier would have been much kinder in the end...

yes i did...and that was 10 years ago when the COA was closer to 50K/year...

and its not like i'm the only one my father was responsible for...and to expect my parents to take out the loans when i'm capable of doing so as Grover suggest is the definition of entitled...

and grover you are woefully misinformed (or come from family money yourself and have a skewed idea of the world) as to the amount of loans that IMGs have to take out...and weirdly obsessed with this girl and hatred for her...what did she do to you?
I was referring to her dad as being the fmg with minimal med school loans.
The Barry site lists the mom as still working there. She is a nurse, former secretary years ago perhaps. The websites both list her dad as the doctor. She has no credibility. At all. In the interviews as well.
Her dad has the same attitude problem. Her sister lied on national tv.

still, are we really sure that doc is her dad?

if she's lying about that, she would get zero empathy from me
just not seeing decent proof of it

On national tv they lied about the mom too.
I am much more interested in the daron wint trial but it's not coming up for a month or so.

I wonder if she would be more marketable to other programs/jobs in the future if she voluntarily entered some sort of anger management or rehab or something. I think that would say more than a taped apology on its own that contained some questionable truths.

I've been trying to stay away from all this mess, mostly because I just don't care. I'm with you on this, though. A quick google search of several different people-finding sites shows no relatives of hers named anything close to Bridglal, though there is a Patricia listed which I would guess is the mom.

Plus, there's plenty of relationships two people with the same name/profession might exist other than parent-child. The neurologist could be her uncle. Or cousin. Or step-second cousin three times removed. Or simply from the same sub-subregion of the old country (though Ramkissoon doesn't seem like a particularly common name, that's not an uncommon circumstance).

Lying about what your parents do on national television seems like a strange thing to do. And she appeared sober in that interview.

the sister ststes dad WAS a truck driver... he could have been, but is likely now a doctor

Are we really discussing her bust size? Seriously people.

Sure we are! She is a woman, and that means that no matter how impressive her accomplishments nor how deplorable her misdeeds, her character and ability can always be discussed in the same breath as her physical attributes. And if anyone points out that this is not just unfair to do to her, but a sign of a larger problem with bias is just a millennial white knight SJW.

Sorry, I'm salty today. I'm just reaching a personal high water mark of dismay at the state of civilization. The tide will go out soon and I'll find something to restore my hope.

Sad but true. :bored:

Should we redirect the conversation onto Donald Trump's stubby little fingers? 😉

interestingly enough she is noted to be of indian origin and the "mother" is trini...and the "father" went to University of the West Indies (which is a domiciled medical school in the caribbean, not a caribbean off shore school) so presumably trini as well.

A few clicks will show that Dr. Bridglal Ramkissoon married a physical therapist named Marly Colon in Miami-Dade County in 1998, had a daughter with her in Sebring in 2009, and currently owns a house with her in Sebring which he bought in 2005. However, it is possible that Patricia was his first wife. Somebody with paid access could easily prove or disprove this and settle this nonsense once and for all....

Oh please.

This idiot Ramkisoon is being criticized largely for her deplorable, embarrassing and completely immature behavior, and her punishment was appropriate. I'm thrilled the hospital actually had the guts to throw her out rather than coddling her with 'anger management seminars' and similar nonsense.

Oh, I really don't mind calling her out for her actions. I really do believe that she deserved to be disciplined for what she did. She should probably have faced criminal charges as someone less privileged would have, for that same behavior.

What distresses me is that the discussion veers away from the important matter of her actions and what they say about her character, to tangents about her breast size and whether they have been surgically enhanced, who paid for her health care, who her parents are...

If your comment comes from a misunderstanding, a thought that I am defending her actions, then please, allow me to correct that. If you really can't see that making those other things part of the discussion has more to do with the fact that she is a woman than with what she did to deserve her infamy, I can't help you.

I agree, a lot has been taken out of context in regards to the discussion about her character as you mentioned.

I would argue though that being a female mighr have actually helped her situation. I've seen men get shot or thrown in jail over much less.

You are right, that she probably has been given a lot of leniency because she isn't a guy. I just don't think it would have been nearly the media sensation, nor would she have a cyberstalker's website devoted to her if she'd been a man. She probably would have been arrested that night and fired the next day, though.

agree with the above, though because there would have been little internet craze, HE m/l would have been given the chance for anger management, rehab, etc and welcome backed to finish up the 6 months...and we wouldn't be here discussing his penis size and most definitely would not have a stalker website...

I think she should have been punished but I still think this likely death blow to her career is too much and benefits no one

there are physicians who have gotten wasted and assaulted people and had charges that still made it to attending/continued to practice in their chosen field

she paid the dude... it was the police's perogative whether or not to arrest her... and the victim's perogative to press charges or not

she should have been put through anger management, substance diversion, community service, & physician's health monitoring for alcohol use and allowed to continue IMHO

patients can regulate on docs! just the media circus, med board and public awareness would have been enough to keep her in line the rest of her career
if she was allowed to be an attending somewhere her reputation would have followed her and should she act like a Princess to patients complaints would have been quick to show up, and sober I think all of this would have taught her to walk the line, all without ruining a young neurologist's career

neurology isn't considered competitive but it is moreso than other fields like IM which can have a more lucrative future, so I doubt she just went into it because she's an IMG and people don't go into neuro for the money
if I'm going to sit here and make baseless assumptions about people based on sterotype, I'm going to say the fact she went for neurology tells me something redeeming about her character

Oz was born in 1986 in Miami, Florida to Bridglal and Patricia Ramkissoon. Her father Bridglal is a part of the Neurology department at Florida Hospital[2] Mustafa, and her mother Patricia is a part of the division of nursing at Barry University[3]. She then attended Barry University, where she graduated from in 2008, and went on to attend St. George University Medical School in Grenada, obtaining her M.D. in 2012. After graduating from medical school, she became a resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami until she was fired in 2016[4].

Did you make that Wiki page?

It was literally just made: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anjali_ramkissoon&action=history

Also "This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy."

In fact, it was made the very same day you posted it on here.. about 2 hours prior. User, Godjila, who made the page has only ever made that page and nothing else. Absolutely no other contributions.

Honestly, your posts in here are absolutely creepy.

I know these kind of people. I have family members that are these kind of people, but instead of doctors, they are lawyers.

R-OH is very revealing when one has had too much, and we discovered much about her personality in just a brief short couple of Minutes. She is Daddy's spoiled little princess, don't let anyone fool you. Her pictures show her as self centered, caring about her looks, and seems to me she hasn't grown out of college "party with Daddy's money!" phase. OMG, we are just gonna have FUN tonight, girls!

Self centered and narcissistic. This is the kind of women that if she didn't make it to medical school, she would have gone to law school and had Daddy pay for a high rise apartment in New York. Little girl, big city syndrome all the way.

I have two female cousins that are doctors. Never once have they shown themselves on instagram wearing bikinis. I know no doctors who do such a thing, and I plan on never showing myself in a bikini either.

Also, did anyone else's eyes roll so far back when you saw the tattoo? Wow, what a fighter, you are stunning and brave. I'll go play "Fight Song" by Rachel Platton, rah rah, u go girl. Placate, Placate, Placate.

since you aren't actually in med school you really wouldn't have a chance to see this...if you get to med school, you will see that probably half you class is this girl...and this is ANY med school, US, DO, off shore...millennials have a delay in that growing up process... and why wouldn't they? or her...she probably hasn't had any responsibilities put on her and hasn't had a real job until this one...went straight to college from high school and then med school straight from college...

and if you are going to be so judgy about someone with a tattoo or a bikini?? you are probably going to judge half your generation...

Just saying.... not even president's can stand up to the scrutiny this girl is getting. It is unfortunate that with only 6 months left in her training she got canned. However deserving of that judgment she was I can't really say but if they were going to fire her they should have done it right away... Why put her on admin leave for 3 months and then do it?
The board probably wanted to be unanimous in making the call to dismiss her from the program.

Really? I know many of the people I had class with in undergrad were like this- men and women both spoiled little brats thinking that they can become doctor, end up with 3.2 GPAs and head on into masters programs. I thought med school titrated this out (Although on my interview day, I could see that there were lots of spoiled kids). I guess a couple are bound to slip through the cracks.

As far as bikinis and tattoos, you don't think its a bit weird for your doctor to post on their Facebook such a thing? I understand some tattoos, like a partner's badge number, or the date a mother passed away, but typical "I can do anything if I believe in myself" written in Chinese millennial bull poopy grinds my gears.

Not unless the question reads, have you ever got into a drunken brawl with an uberdriver? she doesnt have to disclose anything

she will have to disclose the LOA from the residency program, and being terminated

I remember once upon a time thinking how "unlike" the rest of humanity doctors seemed to be
that's true in some ways and not in other as it turns out

turns out doctors wear bikinis too
and get bad tattoos

they also get wasted on the regular!

med school selects for the privileged, not the other way around

There is something unique about carrib students. (And this I can't generalize to all carribs - but I have personally encountered too many horrid SGU alums specifically)

I once was in NOLA with a few hundred medical students from all over the country at a conference. Every tier of school you can imagine was represented, up to and including Hahvahd and such. If someone had documented all the crap we did on Bourbon Street.... That said, none of us did anything more illegal than public intoxication (and certainly no one got assaulted), and medical students have just as much right to enjoy some parts of their 20s as anyone else.

I'm also Facebook friends with dozens of physicians that I knew from med school, various conferences, the med school application cycle, or even SDN. Many of them have pictures of their vacations on their private social media that include bathing suit photos. There's nothing inappropriate about that, and I think that trolling for things like that when you make the news for something else is just stupid.

Basically, regardless of what some of you might think, physicians are people too.

Taco Bell exec wasn't given such privilege

well, we already know you have a bias against foreign med students, so...(and its 2 Bs not 2 Rs, btw...cariBBean)

It's hard to say. It would be difficult to attain an executive position. This is why he is suing the Uber driver for 5 million dollars.

Wait wait wait wait.......she is suing the uber driver? He (the uber driver) was the one who was the one who remained calm cool and collected! Is this backwards world?

No, the Taco Bell exec is (white male). It's stupid and likely won't go anywhere in court, but yes he is suing the uber driver for taping him.

Gotcha. Yeah that's kind of lame, act like a jerk face, get exposed as a jerk face

None of you guys are more careful regarding social media or going out, actions, etc because you know you will be becoming a professional?

And not all millennials are the same.

The rest of us, many of us, went from undergrad, med school, residency, etc as well and don't act like brats.

I am and if not I have friends that remind me that I've got a lot more to lose than the next person, that only happened once and I was a pre-Med newly accepted

Lower GPAs, MCAT scores, and willingness to go to the Caribbean is definitely correlated with irresponsible behavior.
