am i screwed if i cant make A's in premed science requirements. I mean so far I have been pullin A's in all my non science classes but have only been able to get B+'s in science classes. For me getting a B+ is easy but even getting an A- is nearly impossible. What do u guys think?

Dude, what yr are you?? I ask cuz if you are a frosh dont sweat it!
In any case, just do the best you can in classes and study your butt off for the MCAT. A 3.0 BCMP will be rough to overcome, but it is possible.
Good luck to ya!!!
Spin😀 😀

Also, I have found that it is easier to get an A in science classes as time passes by.

a B+ average will be a 3.3 GPA. not terribly bad. if you do really well on the MCAT (33+) you should be okay. especially if you go to a school like Amherst.

keep in mind that it's often easier to get good grades in upper level science courses than in big intro lecture courses. be sure to take some of those smaller, seminar-style science classes, as well as some independent study classes to boost your GPA.

yeah, if you're getting a 3.3 in Science... and a 4.0 in non science, that GPA is pretty high...

that too, if you're a nonscience major, by the time you graduate, it'll be quite high...

one thing, if you're a science major, you should find it easier to pull the A as you take more courses... you should be fine.

Dude don't worry about B's in sciences. Honestly, the strength of your udergrad institution should carry you...Also science classes get easier as you go along.
just make sure you keep around that 3.3 in science and you will be ok.

Is worth a 3.6 from many other schools. Don't worry your MCAT score will be the equalizer.

does this include every single class you've taken under those subjects, or just the ones that med school require from you? i know, i should know this by now...

You've got to classify your courses according to where they should fall. All bio goes under bio etc.

Science classes definitely get easier the further you go. Your brain just gets used to thinking a certain way. Dont sweat it.

it includes every class, from every college.

I will probably get flamed for saying this, but almost every school has a few science classes that are known to be easy A's. Take a couple of these classes and boost your GPA. No, you shouldn't waste your entire college career taking blow-off classes, but taking a few to boost your GPA is okay in my opinion. Med schools won't know the difference between these classes and the hard ones (in most cases) so why not do yourself a favor and make your application a little more competitive.

i dont know what you guys are talking about..i found it easy to get As in the intro science classes and hard as anything to get an A in the upper level ones...this might have been cuz there were 10 or less in those classes and the teachers didnt want to give As to everyone...and Ed i hear u on Pchem...that is THE worst class ever (in addition to the lab that accompanies it).

Yeah avoid P-Chem like the plague.

Here's my summary of P-Chem; seven to ten page derivations of high level calculus and algebra only to be reminded at the end of it that 'of course this is for an ideal gas, now let's look at a real gas at real temperatures and pressures' and launch into ten to fifteen more pages of derivations. Solving the math problems came pretty easy to me but I would have no freaking idea of what the system was actually doing and would get it wrong. Peace.
