what if you dont get into med school....

1) this year
2) this and next year
3) never, there is no more med school or you are just not allowed to for whatever reason.

would you pursue a masters, PhD, or allied health profession? why dont you be a physician assistant or nurse?

Well, assuming it's choice #3.. why give up after only two years? There's always another try or another way.

I would probably need some time to myself. To reassess where I want to go and what I need to do. So perhaps I would join the military for a term. Give myself some purpose and direction as I assessed my goals in life. Then, if I felt I still belonged in the sciences I would probably use the military to pay for my continuing education in whichever field I chose, presuming I'm still alive to do so.

I had always wanted to be a doctor, but didn't perform well in high school. I assumed (and was discouraged) that I would not perform well enough in college to go to medical school. I almost joined the USMC out of high school but, after reading about my university's NROTC program, decided instead to attend it and become a naval aviator.

I went through summer training and put my semester in and, much to my surprise, not only performed well in college but was in the top % of my class! This was encouragement enough that my past performance meant absolutely nothing. So, I left ROTC and continued the path towards medical school.

Long story short: If I ended up never getting into medical school, I would probably stick with Plan A and join the military as a pilot.
