I thought any section at least 20 or more would be good. I have a 3.91 GPA so far. And how many questions can be missed on each section to get a competitive score?

Thanks!

w/ a 3.91 you prob would need an 19 to make your GPA credible. Otherwise it just looks like you took alot of really easy classes.

Some will totally disagree with me but this is what ive seen so far

Do the best you can. Why not aim for the 99th percentile on every section?

I didn't take a lot of easy classes, I'm a bio major, but I didn't go to an extremely hard school. My personal learning style is classroom/auditory + lot of assessments, so I don't like standardized tests because it's like opening one huge book of all the subjects you need to know and knowing it all for a 4 hr test.

on my sat's i did above average but sat's are more common sense/logic than DAT...DAT is like hardcore facts and believe me right now it's VERY hard for me to just read through this kaplan book. i know i'm going to have an extremely difficult time when test time rolls around. and i don't want to take it twice because it's so expensive. i have law school as a backup just because I'm that afraid of the dat screwing up everything.

so i'm trying to be realistic here because i know standardized tests are not my forte. thanks for the answers. so i guess at least 20 will be acceptable. so about how much can i miss in each section to get around that? ty

^ 29 in OC is not 99th percentile?! oh please 😛

thanks dantheman! you are the man 🙂

With a 3.9 you can "get away" with a 18 or 19. But the thing is, you dont want to just "get away" with acceptances. What I am trying to say is that if you aim for the best, even if the actual results are couple notches below your expectation, it would still be far more than enough.

In my case, I was actually forced to get score like this because I knew with my GPA, even a 20 probably still wont cut it.

Good luck!
