What is an EC?

After reading so many posts, one thing has stuck out as an unknown. EC. what is an EC? Perhaps i have no clue as i'm canadian and its an american term, but it starting to drive me crazy when posters say they are not happy with their mcat marks but with good gpa, EC's they are confident of acceptance.

In Canada, they're known as NA's (non-academic) 👍

Aye, in canada they stress volunteering and EC's alot, even the mcat score is often not extremely important.
