I'm not in D school yet, but I hope to goto VCU. Dr Healy (asst. dean of admissions) has been a HUGE help. I am non-traditional student (I'm 33, been teaching for 10 years) and he sat down with me twice now to map out
how I can get into school there. He was very open and very honest. If the rest of the school is any indication of his willingness to help I can't imagine anyplace better!! Good luck in your search...check out the interview feedback section.

lol...buffalo...the school whose faculty went to buffalo for their DDS and who were in turn trained by other buffalo grads....lol...say hello to joynt and since they care about "professionalism", maybe you can suggest a diet for him so that he'd look more professional...

i guess your post is a roundabout way of asking whether i am bashing buffalo just because i got rejected by it.

true enough, i did get rejected and yes, it is odd that i am the only one at predents.com who got rejected. everyone else is either waitliested or accepted. perhaps some are too embarassed to admit that they got rejected too. anyways, to answer your question:

no..i am not bashing because i got rejected. i am mentioning the academic inbreeding because it is true and it is wrong. tht's all. you can beleive me or not....up to you

Yeah I was just curious about the bashing. Everyone else here seems to think Buffalo is a great school. I withdrew my application post interview so I never had the chance to get rejected.

Nova -
Pros: beautiful campus, beautiful area, privately funded for the most part and awesome facilities to practice in, option to take part 1 of the boards after first year, a huge and varied patient pool, friendly faculty

Cons: expensive, traffic, expensive to live in Ft.Lauderdale area, somewhat of a more diseased area compared to other places in terms of the patient pool, compared to UF, not as well known.
