i know this may be the stupidest question, but i really don't know what an extracurricular activity really is. yup, i'm from abroad, english is not my first language, and i'm not familiar with this whole application process. that's why i haven't completed aadsas yet....

so anyway, anything that's done outside classroom can be an EA? or does it have to be done under some kind of an organization? for example, i have been playing drums for my church praise team for like past 2 years. could that be an EA? i also served as a president(?) for my church young adult group last year, could that be an EA as well? i'm really confused. other than that, i cannot think of anything else.

i got 3.92 gpa and 25 dat score, but i haven't done any impressive EAs or research, so i'm kinda afraid. i'm not sure how much dental schools care about those activities.

an extracurricular is any club and/or sport your participated in.

hobbies are things you enjoy doing (i.e. running, guitar, etc.)...they are considered extracurriculars if you were apart of some organization related to the hobby.

shadowing and research is not considered extracurricular.... they are considered shadowing and research, respectively.

good luck,
jb!
