What is "Local GPA?"

When a DO school application lists "local GPA" and then has a certain number of credit hours and grade point average, what is it referring to? There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to what goes into this "local gpa."

I'm pretty sure the local GPA is the GPA of your combined classes that a particular school is interested in.
