My understanding of GPA is that it equals Total attempted credit hours divided by Total quality points.

Therefore the more Total Attempted Credit Hours you Have the harder it will be to increase your GPA.

My question if a grade gets replaced by a better grade doesAACOMAS not count the credit hours of the first attempt in the total attempted credit hours?

For example you took Organic Chem and got a C. Organic chem is a 4 credit class in my School. You take it again and get an A. Does AACOMAS count the retake as 8 attempted credit hours and 16 quality points or 4 attempted credit hours and 16 quality points?

I believe they take the higher of the two. So if you got an A, then your C is wiped out and an A counts. So you get 4 credits and an A in their bank as a pose to 4 credits of a C. They do not average it either like AMCAS. So if you took it twice and you got 8 credits, its now worth 4 of your better grade to them.

But important to note, they dont take the HIGHER of the grade, they take the LATEST grade. C in oct of 2005 A in oct of 2006 B in feb of 2007= B on AACOMAS
